The land promised to Abram and his seed is the state of consciousness in which you now live as if it belonged to you; Canaan is the inner country of settled awareness. The words 'I will be their God' announce that the I Am within you is the only sovereign present in your experience. The 'seed after thee' points to the continuity of the faith-state you cultivate—an unbroken line of conviction that you carry forward into every circumstance. The covenant loyalty asks you to align your imagination with the feeling of possession, not with lack. In Neville's terms, you are the imagining I AM, and the land is your felt-sense of the wish fulfilled. When you dwell in that state, you are no longer a pilgrim but a resident; the covenant becomes your daily atmosphere rather than a distant promise. Practice steady assumption, and your inner possession will manifest as outer events that confirm your inner truth.
