Neville's Inner Vision
Genesis 17:23-27 invites us to read the covenant as an inward reality, not a merely external rite. Abraham circumcises himself and all within his household, signaling that every facet of his consciousness is being aligned to a single I AM. The 'selfsame day' speaks of immediacy: when you hear the inner voice, you act in conscious faith, cutting away the old identifications that keep you tethered to limitation. The 'men of his house'—those born in him and bought with money—represent every aspect of your mind and life under your dominion, gathered and consecrated into the new state. To circumcise them is to deny fear, doubt, and separation and to affirm covenant loyalty to the I AM. The obedience and faithfulness described here are not history but your present potential: a decision of consciousness that rearranges your inner climate and, thus, your outer life. The covenant is yours to claim now, as you become aware of the I AM within.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and revise your self-image: imagine a bright cut through the old identity, and say, 'I am the I AM.' Feel all aspects of your mind and body right now united in the new covenant.
