Biblical Context
Genesis 17:1–2 records God appearing to Abram, declaring the I AM and inviting him to walk with integrity, promising a covenant and blessing that multiplies life.
Neville's Inner Vision
You are Abram in the living moment, hearing the I AM speak as your own awareness: I am the Almighty God. The statement is not about a distant deity, but about the state of consciousness you awaken within. Walk before me and be thou perfect translates to: live continually in the presence of the highest I AM within you, keep your attention on the God-state, and let your life align with that standard. Perfection here means wholeness, congruence, and steadfast trust in the inner law, not moral struggle. The covenant offered is an inner agreement between your conscious self and your divine nature; it is the alignment of your inner dispositions with the universal arithmetic of life. When you assume that alignment, the promise to multiply—exceedingly—becomes your inner climate, your thoughts, and your feelings manifesting as outer conditions. The moment you accept that you are already the image of the I AM, you cease seeking and begin realizing. Your inner world begins to overflow into outward scenes as the law of your imagination takes command.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and slip into the I AM. Assume the state: I AM the Almighty I AM, I walk before my own perfect self, and feel the covenant as already fulfilled, multiplying your life.
