Abundant Alignment With Abram
Genesis 13:5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Genesis 13 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Lot accompanied Abram and, like him, owned flocks, herds, and tents. The verse presents wealth as part of the shared journey.
Neville's Inner Vision
Genesis 13:5 invites us to notice that Lot, walking with Abram, already carries abundance: flocks, herds, tents. But the verse is not about property so much as about consciousness in motion. Abram represents the higher self, the sustained awareness that you are the I AM; Lot represents the yet-undeveloped but loyal part of you that travels with this awareness. When these two aspects move in unity, provision follows as a natural expression of inner state. The flocks and herds symbolize the faculties of perception and action in your mind; the tents symbolize the living places you inhabit in awareness. The outer 'wealth' appears not as a separate prize, but as the visible fruit of aligning your inner life with one guiding desire. The key is to accept that abundance already exists in your consciousness and to let your inner Abram lead, with Lot content to accompany rather than resist. Do not chase after 'more' by effort; instead revise your sense of lack by inhabiting the felt certainty that you and your world are one living presence.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Assume you are Abram, the higher Self, guiding Lot; in a quiet moment, feel the unity of your two aspects dancing as one. Rest in the felt sense that abundance is already within you and let it express as your surrounding life.
