Read Genesis 1 in context

Scripture Focus

27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Genesis 1:27

Biblical Context

Genesis 1:27 states that God created humanity in His image, male and female, imparting divine dignity to every person.

Neville's Inner Vision

Genesis 1:27 speaks not of a distant act of creation, but of your present state of consciousness: you are the image of God, now, in the I AM that you are. The verse is a declaration of inner dignity, not a description of externals. The distinction male and female evokes the wholeness of Godward nature—the balance of action and relation, assertion and receptivity—within a single, indivisible awareness. When you inhabit that image, your thoughts, feelings, and perceptions align with divine order; the world becomes a faithful mirror of your inner pattern. The sense of separation between you and God dissolves as you acknowledge that God’s name is I AM, and you are that I AM made concrete in form. So you and creation are the same living awareness, expressing itself through experiences. Practice: close your eyes, repeat 'I am the image of God,' feel the unity of the masculine and feminine aspects within, and dwell in the felt reality of that truth until your outer life reflects it.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, and say 'I am the image of God.' Feel the I AM filling your body and guiding your next action.
