Biblical Context
In Genesis 1:14-19, God creates lights in the heavens to separate day from night and to serve as signs for times and seasons. He places them to give light on earth, governs day and night, and sees that it is good.
Neville's Inner Vision
These lights are not external facts; they are states of consciousness. The firmament is my awareness; day and night are the movements of mind. When I imagine lights, I am rehearsing a state of being. The greater light to rule the day is my waking consciousness, directing attention toward the goal; the lesser light of the night rules the quiet, where old doubts and habits may lurk. The stars are the ideas that rise within me, guiding steps with their silent intelligence. By acknowledging that God placed them there to give light upon the earth, I affirm that my inner lights illuminate the world I experience. The separation of light from darkness mirrors my choice to distinguish possibility from fear. And when I accept that this division is good, I am honoring the truth my imagination confirms. If I seek signs and seasons for my life, I align my inner weather with creation rather than complaint, and I persist in the image of light until it becomes my experienced reality.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the state 'I AM light in my day,' then vividly imagine a bright firmament of lights within your mind. Revise any limiting thought to match this light, and feel it as real.
