Marks of the Inner Lord

Galatians 6:17 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Galatians 6 in context

Scripture Focus

17From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.
Galatians 6:17

Biblical Context

Paul declares that from now on no one should trouble him, because he bears in his body the marks of the Lord Jesus—signs of the trials endured in faith.

Neville's Inner Vision

Imagine that the marks Paul speaks of are not wounds, but the visible evidence of a consciousness united with the Christ within. From the I AM you carry the lordship of Jesus into every moment; the world’s 'trouble' fades when you accept that your true nature has already overcome. The phrase 'bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus' becomes a statement of your present state, not a history you relive. When you awaken to the fact that you are the I AM, the inner Jesus is your current fact, and the body simply confirms it. Each sensation of fatigue, pain, or trial can be transfigured by the imagination into symbols of faith fulfilled. You are not petitioning a distant deity; you are recognizing your own unity with the Christ and letting that recognition show forth as health, courage, and steadfast trust. Therefore, let no man trouble you; you are free because your state of consciousness already bears the marks of the Lord Jesus.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Close your eyes, revise, and feel it real: I am the Lord Jesus alive in my flesh; my consciousness bears these marks as proof of perfect harmony. Hold that feeling for a minute and let it settle into your bones.
