Inner Cross, The New Creature
Galatians 6:14-15 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Galatians 6 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Paul declares that he glories only in the cross of Christ, and through it the world is crucified to him and he is crucified to the world. He adds that in Christ Jesus, outward rituals and labels count for nothing; what remains is being a new creature.
Neville's Inner Vision
Picture the cross not as a historical event, but as the decisive turning point in your own consciousness. The world is not something happening out there; it is the set of identifications you hold, the stories you repeat about who you are and what you must do. When you say, 'God forbid I should glory save in the cross,' you are choosing a state of awareness in which you no longer identify with worldly roles—circumcision or uncircumcision, ritual distinctions, or social badges—but with a new creation within. 'In Christ Jesus' means within the very center of your being, your I AM, where the old self is laid to rest and your sense of self is reimagined as a being that exists independent of conditioned outcomes. The cross is the method by which the ego is crucified to the world and the world to the ego, freeing your imagination to birth a different reality. As you persist in this inner recognition, you awaken to the truth that you are, here and now, a new creature, whole, unconditioned, and complete.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and softly assume the feeling: I am the cross within; I have crucified the world to my awareness. Then revise any sense of lack by affirming: I am a new creature in Christ, and all things are made new in my consciousness.
