Biblical Context
Galatians 4:24 presents an allegory of two covenants: the Sinai covenant that binds, associated with Agar, and a contrasting inner covenant representing liberty.
Neville's Inner Vision
Paul’s line is not about ancient geography but about two inner states of consciousness. Sinai represents the man-made system of rules, fear, and external performance that binds you—Agar stands as its symbol, the bondage born of trusting in outward law. The other covenant is the living I AM within you—the present awareness that you are already free, unconditionally loved, and complete. These covenants are allegories for mental climates you choose to inhabit. When you identify with the Sinai mindset, you feel separate, compelled, and bound by duty; when you identify with the I AM, you enter liberty, grace, and creative power. The instruction here is practical: revise your state of mind from fear-driven compliance to the assured presence of God within. Your world follows your inner state; shift your attention to the I AM, and the bondage fades into liberty as a natural expression of your awakened consciousness.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes, affirm 'I AM,' and feel it as present reality. Revise the scene by stepping from Sinai into the liberty of the inner covenant, letting your outer life begin to reflect that inward freedom.
