Enduring Zeal Within Galatians 4:18
Galatians 4:18 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Galatians 4 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
It says zeal for good should be constant, not only when the speaker is present. Your inner state is the real scene, and the I AM within nourishes it.
Neville's Inner Vision
Imagine that zeal is not a passing emotion toward a distant object, but a habit of inner attention. The verse does not scold you for zeal; it blesses the practice of keeping your affection for the good alive continually. In Neville's language, God is the I AM within you, the conscious awareness that does the seeing. To be zealously affected is to let that awareness stay charged with good, in every moment, whether or not I am speaking to you. When you imagine the presence of a teacher, you may feel encouraged; but the true power is in feeling that the good you desire already exists in the field of your own consciousness. Practice assumes that what you desire is already real in the I AM that you are. Do not wait for external confirmation; revise your states of mind until you feel the zeal sustained and steady. The world is simply the echo of your inner state; keep the inner zeal bright and the outer day will reflect it.
Practice This Now
Assume that your zeal for the good is constant. Each morning, declare 'I am zealously affected by all good things at all times' and imagine a bright inner flame that never fades.
