Biblical Context
Paul declares that by faith in Christ you are all the children of God. Baptism puts on Christ, dissolving the old distinctions so you become Abraham's seed and heirs according to the promise.
Neville's Inner Vision
Think of this text as the revelation that your inner world is the kingdom of God already, and you are its heir by acknowledging your true nature. The phrase 'by faith in Christ Jesus' means you awaken to the reality that your consciousness is Christ, not a separate ego. To be baptized into Christ is to immerse your entire sense of self in the living idea of Christ—the inner garment that insists you are complete, lacking nothing. When you put on Christ, you wear the unity of God as your normal state, and the false sense of division between Jew and Greek, bond and free, male and female, dissolves into one energy—the Christ in you. If you belong to Christ, you are Abraham's seed; inheritance is your present circumstance, a motion of consciousness rather than a future event. The promise is not a distant grant but a realized condition of awareness you can cultivate today. You do not obtain this by striving; you assume its truth and feel it now, and your world follows the inner certainty that you are God’s offspring in perpetual unity.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and deliberately suppose the truth: I am a child of God by faith in Christ Jesus. Feel yourself baptized into Christ, wear Christ as your inner garment, and rest in the certainty of oneness here and now.
