Within You: The Seed of Promise
Galatians 3:15-18 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Galatians 3 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Galatians 3:15-18 shows that once a covenant is confirmed, none can disannul or add to it; the promises made to Abraham come through one seed, Christ. The inheritance is by promise, not by law.
Neville's Inner Vision
Consider this as a map of your inner landscape. The covenant spoken of in Galatians is not a future treaty in the outer world, but an inner agreement confirmed within your own consciousness. The 'seed' to whom the promises belong is not a line of descendants but the Christ within you—the one idea that you are already complete, already heir to every blessing. The law, introduced later, does not revoke this inner promise; it merely represents attempts to attain by obedience what is already the truth in your I AM awareness. Therefore, your inheritance is not earned by rules but received by recognizing your unity with the seed. Time (hundreds of years later) is irrelevant to the immediacy of the present realization. If you insist the inheritance depends on performance, you are still separated from the promise; choose instead to identify with the seed and claim the promise now. Your consciousness is the covenant; your imagination is the instrument by which the seed grows; your feeling awakens it into form. Rest in the certainty that God gave Abraham the promise—so you too are promised this realization, in the present moment.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quiet, close your eyes and softly say, 'I am the seed of Christ; the promise is mine now,' and let the inner feeling of 'it is done' flood your chest.
