Inner Faith, Not Law

Galatians 3:1-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Galatians 3 in context

Scripture Focus

1O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
2This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
3Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
4Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.
5He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
Galatians 3:1-5

Biblical Context

Paul asks if the Spirit was received by the works of the law or by the hearing of faith. He urges that beginning in the Spirit should not be perfected by the flesh.

Neville's Inner Vision

Notice that this letter turns on a single point: your Spirit is not earned by outward obedience but awakened by inner conviction. When you ask whether the Spirit comes by law or by faith, you are really inquiring about your own state of awareness. If you began in the Spirit—that is, with trust in the unseen—then attempting to finish by the flesh is merely returning to habitual thought. The miracles you witness are not produced by rule-keeping; they arise as the living movement of consciousness aligned with the truth that you and Christed awareness are one. The question becomes: do you accept that the truth is already true now within you, or do you seek it through external conformity? Your body, your world, and all events respond to the inner posture you maintain toward life, revealing the power of your inner assumption to shape reality.

Practice This Now

Assume right now that the Spirit has already awakened within you. Revise any belief that you must earn it through rules, and feel the I AM as your immediate, present reality.
