Inner Commissions of Grace
Galatians 2:7-9 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Galatians 2 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Galatians 2:7-9 shows that the gospel to the uncircumcision (Gentiles) was entrusted to Paul just as the gospel to the circumcision (Peter) was entrusted to Peter. The leaders affirmed each other’s calling and fellowship, recognizing that the divine message works through distinct commissions.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beloved, this passage invites you to see yourself as the Paul of your own life, bearing a gospel to the uncircumcision—the unconditioned truth you carry beyond mere ritual. The ‘circumcision’ stands for old boundaries; the gospel of the uncircumcision is the free Spirit you now claim as your reality. The same mighty work that moved Peter toward the circumcision is at work in you toward the Gentiles—the unseen parts of your being that seek wideness, inclusion, and fresh expression. When you perceive the grace given to you, your inner pillars—your steadfast convictions, your spacious imagination, and your compassionate action—recognize and you feel the right-hand fellowship within: all parts of you align, no longer divided, to bless the nations of your life. There is a distinctive assignment for every facet of consciousness, yet they belong to one Source. The inner gospel and the outer mission are two movements of the same life. Your practice is to accept this coordination as real now, and to step into the awareness that you are already commissioned to extend grace outward through your thoughts, words, and deeds.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Assume the role of the apostle to your own Gentiles—revise any sense of separation and feel-it-real that grace is already working through you to bless and unify your life.
