Neville's Inner Vision
Ezra 8:32 invites you to notice that the return to Jerusalem is first a return to consciousness. Jerusalem, in Neville’s sense, is the inner altar where I AM—your awareness—abides. The travelers do not merely ride to a city; they shift their focus from exile to dwelling in the truth of now. The three days of abode symbolize a deliberate pause in activity, a period you spend inside your own mind until the sense of separation dissolves and presence becomes your default atmosphere. When you imagine you are there, the outer event of returning becomes a natural embodiment of the inner state: you wake, you rest in the I AM, you decide that your entire life is now centered in this holy place of awareness. The verse becomes a practical instruction: if you want a reality to show up in your world, begin by assuming that you already inhabit the city of your true self. In time, the outward Jerusalem will reflect the inward order you have established.
Practice This Now
Assume you are already dwelling in the I AM within your inner Jerusalem. Feel that presence for three breaths, then extend the feeling to several minutes until it becomes your default state.
