Temple Obedience Within
Ezra 7:23 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Ezra 7 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Whatever the God of heaven commands must be done for the house of God, diligently and with care. This obedience shields the realm from divine wrath.
Neville's Inner Vision
Ezra's command is a whisper of the inner law: whatever the God of heaven commands, do it for the temple of your heart. The God of heaven is not out there but the I AM within, the consciousness that orders every event. When you diligently carry out that inner order, you align your inner world so that the outer realm, your calendar, duties, and the so-called king and his sons, moves in accord with your inner state. Obedience is not a submission to rules but fidelity to a higher state; it is true worship, a separation from competing desires that deny the divine order. The moment you assume the feeling that the command is law within you, you will see the realm respond: interruptions dissolve, opportunities appear, and the fear of wrath softens into a benevolent current of circumstance. Treat any inner command as sacred, act upon it promptly, and let the temple be rebuilt from within. The presence of God is your natural condition when you live as if that command is already fulfilled.
Practice This Now
Choose one inner command today and act as if it is already done. In the next 10 minutes, imagine the temple within as fully restored and yourself carrying out the command with ease.
