Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The captives cleanse themselves and observe Passover with purified priests, sharing the feast with returning Israelites and those who separated themselves. They keep the unleavened bread for seven days with joy, because God turned the king's heart to support the temple work.
Neville's Inner Vision
Ezra 6:19-22 is a map of consciousness. The captivity of the people is not merely historical; it is a state of mind held in the I AM. The purification of the priests and Levites is the cleansing of your faculties—faith, imagination, discernment, and will—made pure by awareness. They kill the passover for all the children of the captivity, and for their brethren the priests, and for themselves: that is, you declare the old story of limitation dead and you set a new feast for your inner community. The children of Israel who separated themselves from the filthiness of the heathen, to seek the LORD God of Israel, eat: you now nourish yourself on truth, refusing contamination of old beliefs. They kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with joy: for the LORD had made them joyful, and turned the heart of the king of Assyria unto them, to strengthen their hands in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel. Your outer world bows to your inner decision; purification and joy invite support, and the work of your temple proceeds with ease as you dwell in the certainty of I AM.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and imagine you are purified, feasting on truth. Feel the joy rise as your outer world begins to align with your inner temple.
