The Unalterable Inner Decree

Ezra 6:11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Ezra 6 in context

Scripture Focus

11Also I have made a decree, that whosoever shall alter this word, let timber be pulled down from his house, and being set up, let him be hanged thereon; and let his house be made a dunghill for this.
Ezra 6:11

Biblical Context

Ezra 6:11 records a king's decree that no one may alter this Word; those who do will have timber pulled from their house, be hanged on it, and see their house made a dunghill.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within this decree lies a mirror of your inner life. The 'Word' is the settled I AM you have allowed to define what is possible. To alter this Word is to challenge the Authority you are, and in that moment your inner house trembles; the timber of old beliefs is pulled down and set aside, and the old self appears exposed, as if hung on its own decree. The punishment spoken is not a distant fate but the immediate consequence of doubting your own God-given Word; your outer life mirrors the collapse of the old structure, turning the house into a dunghill to clear space for a truer self. Yet the kingship and law are yours: you stand as the ruler of your inner realm, and your decree is your authority. When you refuse to alter your Word, you invite a new world to form in alignment with it, and the ruin becomes the birth of a stronger reality.

Practice This Now

Choose one decree you want to govern your life and affirm, 'I am the Word and I will not alter it.' Then, for a few minutes, feel it real and imagine your day unfolding entirely under that inner decree.
