Biblical Context
The elders are questioned about who commanded the rebuild. The names of the leaders are sought to certify the work.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within the quiet of your mind, the temple you seek to rebuild is your rebuilt life. The elders represent fixed beliefs and familiar voices about authority. To ask who commanded the work is to inspect the source of your impulse: is it fear, guilt, or the I AM who truly commands? The act of requesting names for the chiefs is a symbolic naming of the ruling states of consciousness that govern action. Name them: Faith, Obedience, Truth, Courage. By naming, you place these inner leaders on the throne of your inner council, and their authority becomes the measure by which you proceed. The outer audit is but a mirror of your inner condition: you write the names of your inner authorities, and therefore you certify the reality you are choosing to live. If you feel resistance, revise the premise: you did command the building; the I AM in you is the builder. Let the feeling of that assumption permeate you now, and watch the temple rise in harmony with your deepest truth. The only law that governs is consciousness, so obey it and build.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly and declare I command the building of my inner temple. Write the names of my inner leaders: Faith, Obedience, Truth, Courage, and feel their authority now.
