Biblical Context
Ezra 4:23-24 records a king's decree that forced the builders to stop work on the temple, bringing the project to a halt until the king's next reign. The outward interruption mirrors inner disruption.
Neville's Inner Vision
In the Neville Goddard sense, the king’s letter is a symbol of a belief in limitation arising in your own consciousness. When you identify with that decree, you cease the inner labor of building your temple of awareness. But the I AM, your true being, is not bound by such claims and does not require permission from an external authority to grow. The cessation you read of is an inner stopping, a temporary withdrawal of attention from your creative act. To reclaim the building, you must revise the decree by assuming the opposite: that the temple is already alive and complete within you by virtue of your I AM presence. Feel the momentum of inner construction return; imagine the stones of awareness rising, the altars of devotion reestablished, and the work proceeding without impediment. The time-lapse until a future moment collapses as you stand in the present, aware that the decree of fear holds no power over the creative pilot within you. Your consciousness rebuilds the house of God through unwavering inner assumption.
Practice This Now
Take a moment to revise the outer decree in your mind: 'No decree of fear can stop the temple of God within me; I am building now.' Then feel the inner temple rise as you rest in the I AM.
