Inner Return and Sacred Support
Ezra 1:3-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Ezra 1 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage invites all of God's people to return to Jerusalem to rebuild the house of the LORD. Those who stay are supported by others' gifts, and those stirred by the Spirit rise up to aid the work.
Neville's Inner Vision
All the world of Ezra is a symbol of your inner state. 'Who is there among you' is the question you ask of your own consciousness: is there a God with me now, or am I wandering in exile? The answer is not outside, but within: the I AM, the Presence of God, calls you to 'go up to Jerusalem' in your own mind—up the hill of awareness to rebuild the inner temple. The materials offered—silver, gold, goods, beasts—represent your thoughts, energies, and beliefs you pledge to the purpose of true worship. The freewill offering is your choice to refuse lack and to give with joy. Leaders rise up by the Spirit God has raised in you—your higher self, your renewed dispositions—who help you gather and organize the inner resources. Those around you strengthen their hands, not with coins alone, but with the willingness to support your intention. This is not a history lesson but a law: when you align with the divine current, exile ends and a radiant temple of awareness is erected within.
Practice This Now
Assume you are already back in your inner Jerusalem. Feel the gift of support flow from your own resources into the rebuilding of the temple as you stand in the awareness 'God is with me.'
