Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Ezra 1:2-5 shows Cyrus authorizing the return and support for rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem; it frames a collective movement guided by God's spirit.
Neville's Inner Vision
To Neville, this text is not about Cyrus as a king in a distant history, but about the inner king and the decree that arises from awareness. 'Thus saith Cyrus...' is an outer word that only confirms what your inner I AM has already decreed. The 'kingdoms of the earth' bow to the God of heaven because your awareness has awakened to its own power; the charge to 'build him a house' is the decision to erect a temple in your own consciousness where God lives. The invitation 'Who is there among you… let him go up to Jerusalem' invites your attention to Jerusalem, the inner city of peace and purpose. Those who 'belong to' your people are the faculties and resources of your mind: the silver, the gold, the beasts, the freewill offering—that is, the manifested support your inner state attracts as it aligns with the divine plan. When the spirit God has raised moves, the builders rise—the priests, Levites, and common folk—your inner states rally to complete the sacred project within.
Practice This Now
Assume the end: the inner temple is already built. See people, circumstances, and resources flowing to support it, and feel your awareness made real.
