The Rod of Pride Within
Ezekiel 7:10-12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Ezekiel 7 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
An imminent day of judgment arrives. Pride blossoms into a rod of violence, and the old order is consumed.
Neville's Inner Vision
Read as a touchstone for the inner man, Ezekiel’s words speak to the day when consciousness awakens to itself. The day is my dawning awareness, and the morning that has gone forth is the moment when I stop identifying with the ego. The rod that blossoms is the power I have given to thoughts born of pride; when that pride becomes force, it cries out as violence in my life. Yet this is not punishment coming from without, but the natural consequence of attention given to separation; the rod dissolves when I return my attention to the I AM. The line that none shall remain is the shedding of every role that does not serve the divine I within. The buyer and seller refrain from rejoicing or mourning because the inner market is transformed by a single belief: I am present as the one reality. Wrath upon the multitude is the collective storm of mind when many refuse to wake; I can interrupt it by assuming the truth of my unity with God. The time is come, and I choose to wake, to dwell as the I AM, and let creation respond from that silent center.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, breathe, and imagine a blossoming rod of light rising from your chest; declare I AM and feel the old pride melt into awareness.
