Awakening Inner Idols

Ezekiel 6:2-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Ezekiel 6 in context

Scripture Focus

2Son of man, set thy face toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy against them,
3And say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys; Behold, I, even I, will bring a sword upon you, and I will destroy your high places.
4And your altars shall be desolate, and your images shall be broken: and I will cast down your slain men before your idols.
5And I will lay the dead carcases of the children of Israel before their idols; and I will scatter your bones round about your altars.
6In all your dwellingplaces the cities shall be laid waste, and the high places shall be desolate; that your altars may be laid waste and made desolate, and your idols may be broken and cease, and your images may be cut down, and your works may be abolished.
Ezekiel 6:2-6

Biblical Context

God commands Ezekiel to turn toward the mountains of Israel and prophesy against them. The high places, altars, and idols will be destroyed, and worship will be redirected.

Neville's Inner Vision

Read Ezekiel 6:2-6 as a manual for your inner weather. The mountains and hills are states of mind—habits, appetites, loyalties—that you call real by living them. The I AM within you speaks: I, the Lord GOD, will bring a sword upon you, and destroy your high places. Not as punishment, but as the piercing clarity of awareness that reveals what you worship in secret. Your altars shall become desolate, your images broken; when you witness the 'slain' within you cast before idols, you are not condemning yourself, you are waking up. I will lay the dead carcasses of the children of Israel before their idols; I will scatter bones round about your altars. All your dwellingplaces—city after city—will be laid waste until the altars are laid waste, until idols cease. This is not ruin but liberation: the old form dissolves so the true worship—awareness of I AM—rises in its place. The outer world rearranges itself to reflect the inner state.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Close your eyes and assume, 'I AM the mountains, and I govern them; the idols crumble now.' Feel it-real as inner altars vanish and true worship rises within.
