River of the Inner Renewal

Ezekiel 47:5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Ezekiel 47 in context

Scripture Focus

5Afterward he measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not pass over: for the waters were risen, waters to swim in, a river that could not be passed over.
Ezekiel 47:5

Biblical Context

Ez 47:5 describes an inner journey where a measured distance becomes a swelling river, so deep you cannot cross with the old self. It signals the ongoing movement of life toward renewal within consciousness.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within Ezekiel’s vision, the river is not a distant flood but the rising stream of awareness moving through my mind. When I measure a thousand, I am not counting miles but the solidity of a state I can inhabit now. The waters rise to swim in because I have assumed a new nature, a state of grace that cannot be crossed by the old sense of self. I do not conquer it, I enter it; I give way to the current and find that the shore no longer limits me. The presence of God—my I AM—flows as a living river, renewing thoughts, feelings, and decisions until a new creation emerges within. This is salvation here and now: not a future event but the recognition that creation follows my inner assumption. Providence is the constant guidance of this inner water, carrying me toward fullness as I dwell in the feeling of the wish fulfilled.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and declare I am the river of life in me now, feeling the current lift you into a renewed state. Stay with that feeling until it saturates the body with the sense that the new creation has already taken shape.
