Inner Sanctuary of Sacred Practice
Ezekiel 46:19-20 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Ezekiel 46 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Ezekiel presents a holy inner room where priests prepare offerings so purification occurs within, keeping the outer world untouched by unclean acts. The focus is on inner preparation rather than exterior ceremony.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within Ezekiel's vision, the outer court represents appearances; the true work occurs in the inner chambers, where I, as I AM, purify my life by reimagining guilt and sin as already dealt with. The trespass offering and sin offering are not external obligations but habits and fears I choose to transform in consciousness. The priests who boil and bake these offerings symbolize the mental acts through which I heat and refine my feelings until they are no longer carriers of guilt; the meat offering becomes the nourishment of a refined state of mind. By keeping the sacrifice within the holy chamber, I prevent unhealed states from spilling into the utter court and sanctify the world by my inner order. This is not punishment but alignment with the truth that my inner life leads my outer life; the law of the temple is the law of consciousness: I am already whole, and as I assume this truth, it circulates through every action, sanctifying those around me.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Sit in quiet stillness and enter your inner sanctuary. Assume the I AM is present, feel guilt and fear transform into clarity, and declare, 'I am sanctified.'
