Inner Garments of Holiness
Ezekiel 42:13-14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Ezekiel 42 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage describes holy rooms for priests who serve the LORD; after entering the holy place, they lay aside their ministering garments and wear new ones when approaching the people.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within you, Ezekiel’s north and south chambers are states of awareness, sacred rooms in which you approach the LORD—the I AM you. The most holy things you feast upon are the immutable truths you hold in mind as you dwell in the holy place: love, purity, responsibility, and the vision of service. When you 'lay your garments' you drop the old self-contractions, the fear and identity that limit action, and you dress in fresh mental attire—confidence, clarity, compassion—fit for the work that serves others. By staying inside the holy place, you refuse to scuttle back into the utter court of doubt; you remain in the inner sanctuary long enough to consecrate your motives and methods. The 'people' you approach with are the situations and souls around you; accordingly, your external acts become the natural expression of your renewed consciousness. The image invites you to experience yourself as the priest and the temple: you eat the holy things, you change your state, and you step out renewed, ready to minister from holiness rather than from fear.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: In a moment of stillness, imagine entering the holy place of your mind, laying aside fear and donning garments of confident, loving action; feast on the truth you are the I AM, and carry that state into one small task today.
