Gog and the Inner Gate: Ezekiel 39
Ezekiel 39:1-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Ezekiel 39 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
God declares He is against Gog and prophesies his defeat from the north. Gog's army will fall on the mountains of Israel and be devoured by birds and beasts, for the Lord has spoken.
Neville's Inner Vision
To me, Gog is the stubborn state of mind that would rule my inner land from the north. The Lord’s words, I am against thee, reveal that this foe is a belief, not a person, that I have mistaken for my reality. If I assume the opposite— that I AM the I AM here, now— this belief is turned back and loses most of its strength, leaving only a fragment to remind me of the power I always possess. The mountains of Israel symbolize the inner landscape I guard with faith: loyalties to truth, calm, and integrity I cultivate within my own awareness. When the text says I will smite thy bow from thy left hand and arrows from thy right, I read it as the old modes of fear and coercion losing their grip as I stop feeding them with imagination. Gog and his bands fall upon the open field, devoured by the birds and beasts— my discarded thoughts returning to dust, proving that the word I have spoken within me is the real judgment. This is not punishment, but a revelation: a shift in consciousness that makes the kingdom of God present in my life.
Practice This Now
Assume the I AM is against this inner foe. Revise the scene: I stand on the mountains of Israel in peace; Gog is sent away to the north, and the fear arrows fall away as I feel the reality of God within.
