Shepherds of the Inner Flock
Ezekiel 34:2-3 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Ezekiel 34 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Prophet Ezekiel condemns the shepherds of Israel for feeding themselves and neglecting the flock they were charged to care for. They took the fat and wool, but failed to feed the sheep.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within Ezekiel's claim, the sight of self-serving shepherds becomes a mirror for your own inner governors. The shepherds of your mind are the beliefs, identities, and habits that feed themselves while neglecting the flock of thoughts and feelings under your care. When you cling to fat notions of self-importance or clothe yourself with the wool of ego, you literally starve the very awareness that could awaken. The woe is a gentle call to reassign leadership: become the true shepherd of your inner realm, not the landlord of a private kingdom. Feed the flock with nourishing ideas, truthful perceptions, and generous imagination; clothe yourself with humility, courage, and service to the Whole. As you assume that role, your I AM expands, and the flock flourishes in the light of imagination turned real. The 'food' you provide is conscious attention and creative expectation; the 'killing' of fed thoughts is simply your old habit of ignoring them. Invite a new leadership of love, and your world will align with that inner policy.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and declare, I am the good shepherd of my inner state. Feed the inner flock with a nourishing vision of wholeness and feel it real now.
