Inner Judgment, Inner State
Ezekiel 33:27 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Ezekiel 33 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
God proclaims that judgment comes to people wherever they are: in wastes, in the open field, or in forts and caves. The imagery of sword, beasts, and pestilence signals stark consequences.
Neville's Inner Vision
Think of Ezekiel’s decree as a map of your inner landscape. The wastes, the open field, the forts and caves are internal dispositions, not distant places. When you cling to old pictures of yourself, you invite the imagery of judgment—the sword of fear, the beasts of lack, the pestilence of doubt—into your awareness. Yet the verse begins with 'As I live,' a declaration of the I AM, your unchanging consciousness. The power that speaks here is not against you but within you, offering the chance to revise. If you identify with a state other than the one you desire, you will experience its effects as external conditions. But you can reverse the scene by assuming the feeling of your wish fulfilled, and staying with the certainty that awareness governs every scene. Imagine the day is already made right by your inner peace, and let that impression settle into your body and world. The old judgment falls away when you decide to inhabit a new mental climate—one of wholeness, safety, and abundance. Exile and return become the cycle of shedding and restoring your true I AM presence.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes, revise your inner scene by affirming, 'I AM the I AM; my life is governed by inner peace.' Feel that truth until it throbs as real.
