Inner Turn Toward Life

Ezekiel 33:14-19 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Ezekiel 33 in context

Scripture Focus

14Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;
15If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.
16None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.
17Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal.
18When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby.
19But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby.
Ezekiel 33:14-19

Biblical Context

God declares that turning from sin and choosing a life of lawfulness brings life rather than death for the wicked; sins can be forgotten when a true turn occurs. Conversely, if the righteous turn from righteousness into iniquity, they die, while the wicked who turn toward life shall live.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within Ezekiel’s oracle, wicked and righteous are not others; they are states of mind you entertain. God, the I AM within, is always turning toward life. When you cling to a fixed sense of limitation, you declare a death to a part of yourself; when you revise that self into one who acts lawfully with life, you awaken the living man. The instruction is not judgment but a shift of consciousness: restore, repay, walk in life’s statutes, and you shall live. Your past sins disappear when you refuse to identify with them, because you have chosen a new identity in harmony with vitality. If the righteous slip back into error, death follows that belief; if the wicked awaken and choose life, they live. The key is awareness, not punishment. Assume the end: you are already the man who acts rightly, who refuses to compromise with lack, and who lives in enduring peace. Practice by revising your inner state until it feels completed and natural, and watch the outer world reflect that living order.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the feeling of the life that follows a true turn: you have restored what was taken and you walk in life’s statutes. Stay with that feeling until your sense of self shifts and your world begins to reflect it.
