Echoes From the Inner Sheol
Ezekiel 32:20-21 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Ezekiel 32 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage depicts judgment and defeat. The slain fall, and the mighty with their helpers descend into Sheol.
Neville's Inner Vision
Imagine you are not watching others fall, but witnessing a movement within your own consciousness. Ezekiel records a scene where the sword of decision severs old imaginings, delivering 'Sheol'—the inner region where a worn identity rests—to the power of awareness. The slain and the mighty symbolize beliefs you have trusted: fear, pride, grievance, and the sense of separate self. The strong among the mighty speaking from the midst of hell with those who helped him reveals the inner voices of old thoughts that supported limitation; they lie uncircumcised, slain by the sword, because they no longer hold life when confronted by the I AM. In Neville’s terms, your imagination is not idle; it fashions reality by the state you inhabit. To revise is simply to refuse the image of separation and assume the one who speaks—awareness itself. Draw the line between the old image and your true self, and let the multitudes bow to the new decree of consciousness. The old order collapses, and you rise not by struggle but by recognizing that you are the I AM, the sovereign observer who witnesses every scene.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly, breathe to stillness, and imagine you stand before a sword of light. Draw forth the inner scene of Sheol, then declare, I AM the ruler here, and allow the old identities to fall away, replaced by the sovereign awareness.
