The Inner Tree of Presence
Ezekiel 31:6-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Ezekiel 31 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage presents a symbolic tree whose roots drink from living waters, extending shelter and influence to all life and nations. It invites you to see your own consciousness as the root and shade under which circumstances flourish.
Neville's Inner Vision
Know that the scene Ezekiel paints is not a distant empire but the state of your own consciousness. The fowls and beasts in the verse are only your thoughts and habits nesting under the branches of your inner life. The mighty tree represents your I AM awareness, the very center from which all outward appearances germinate. When your root runs by living waters, energy and vitality feed every facet of your fortune; prosperity and protection are not bestowed from without but radiantly spring from within. Nations and creatures dwelling in the shade symbolize circumstances that gather because you accept the truth of your own greatness. The length of the branches is the reach of your imaginative life—a measure of how far your sense of self extends. To know yourself thus is to know the Kingdom of God within you, a present embodied reality that commands order and harmony in every arena. Remember, imagination creates reality; plant your tree by the waters of I AM and watch the world come to shelter under its shadow.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly, close your eyes, and picture a great tree rooted by living waters in the center of your chest. Say I AM the tree, and under my shadow all nations are safe and prosperous, and feel that state as real now.
