Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage depicts the Assyrian as a towering cedar in Lebanon, lifted high by waters. Its height and multiplying branches symbolize imperial pride and the vulnerability of power.
Neville's Inner Vision
From the vantage of inner life, the Assyrian cedar is your own image of grandeur. Ezekiel does not describe stone and timber alone; he points to the state of consciousness that believes itself sovereign. The cedar’s top among thick boughs represents a self-image crowned by apparent supremacy. The waters that make him great are the life currents you consent to in feeling and imagination; they lift your image high and feed its growth. When you identify with this image, you set your life in motion to mirror it, for imagination is the real working power. The deep sets him up on high with rivers circling his plants—so the feeling that life supports your power circulates around your inner garden, giving you the sense of protection and reach. But notice the shadowing shroud—the outer appearance that seems to cover truth. Neville's counsel is to revise that outer image by assuming the feeling of inner authority already accomplished. The Kingdom of God, then, is your awareness, not a distant throne. Allow your consciousness to swell with the feeling of abundance, mastery, and stability; your inner cedar will naturally extend branches in your life as you persist in the assumption.
Practice This Now
Imaginative_act: Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and repeat: I am the cedar of inner power, lifted by the waters of life. Feel the height and shade as your reality shifts to the inner state you choose.
