Biblical Context
In Ezekiel 24:19–24, the people seek meaning; God declares He will profane their sanctuary and strip away cherished strengths and pleasures, and that their own sons and daughters will fall by the sword. Ezekiel then stands as a sign, and when the fulfillment comes they will know that I am the Lord GOD.
Neville's Inner Vision
Remember, the 'Word of the LORD' in Ezekiel is not about a distant temple; it is the living I AM within you issuing a command to your own consciousness. The 'sanctuary' of their strength, the 'desire of your eyes,' and 'that which your soul pitieth' are your inner images, satisfactions, and attachments. When I say I will profane it, I am not threatening an external ruin; I am indicating that your outer life will reflect a shaking of the inner frame— the removal of habitual supports so you may see with new sight. You shall not cover your lips, nor eat the bread of men—these are symbols of pretense and reliance on mere appearances. Your tires upon your heads and shoes on your feet signify ready movement in a revised mind, free from mourning for old ways. You shall pine away for your iniquities, not from punishment, but from clinging to misaligned thoughts. Ezekiel is unto you a sign: as you embody his posture in your inner life, you will discover that the I AM is the Lord GOD within you. When you finally realize that you are the authority of your own reality, you cease waiting for signs and you begin consciously creating.
Practice This Now
Practice: Close your eyes and assume the identity of your inner signer—your I AM. Silently affirm, 'I am the Lord GOD of this inner temple,' and feel your mind clearing of conditioned attachments. Then allow your daily reality to adjust to that revised state.
