Biblical Context
They commit adultery with their idols and sacrifice their children. They enter the sanctuary to profane it, defiling the temple and sabbaths.
Neville's Inner Vision
From the Neville lens, the verse speaks of states of consciousness, not merely external acts. Adultery with idols represents a mind convinced that some image—power, security, pleasure—has replaced the I AM within. Blood on their hands is the visible consequence of living in fear and craving; the children sacrificed to idols are the formed aspects of self that the mind drains of life by worshiping substitutes. Bringing these idols into the sanctuary shows the split in awareness: outward ritual while interior defilement remains. The sanctuary is your inner state of God consciousness; sabbath is the resting in that awareness. When you act as if you must appease a false god, you desecrate your temple and disrupt the rhythm of inner peace. The remedy is a revision: assume the consciousness of the one true worship, your I AM. See yourself as the sanctuary that is holy because God dwells there, and let the idols fade as you affirm that there is only I AM within you, and you are holy.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, breathe, and adopt the I AM as your sole ruler. Revise any idol image by affirming there is only I AM within you, and you are holy.
