Inner Covenant Reimagined
Ezekiel 23:18 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Ezekiel 23 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage describes uncovering idolatry and exposed self, and the mind becomes alienated from that image and from the sister state. This alienation signals a shift in your consciousness back toward the true Self.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beloved, you are not witnessing a distant drama in Ezekiel, but your own inner weather. The 'two sisters' are two states of consciousness, one clinging to idols and appearances, the other flickering with truth. 'Whoredoms' and 'nakedness' signify the moment you mistake outer symbols for reality and expose the ego's vulnerable image. When you 'discover' them, your mind becomes alienated from that image, not punished but notified that you have mistaken a temporary stage for your eternal Self. The alienation is the moment of awakening, a gentle prompting to return to the I AM—that unchanging awareness that neither idol nor image can touch. The point is not to condemn, but to revise your sense of self until you feel as one with your true Self, the divine center that witnesses both images without being defined by them. By choosing to identify with the counsel of the I AM, you dissolve the sense of separation and restore covenant with the real you.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes, assume I AM, and declare, 'I am the true Self; no image of idolatry can separate me.' Then feel the allegiance to the divine Self until alienation falls away.
