Inner Idols, Inner Covenant

Ezekiel 23:11-12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Ezekiel 23 in context

Scripture Focus

11And when her sister Aholibah saw this, she was more corrupt in her inordinate love than she, and in her whoredoms more than her sister in her whoredoms.
12She doted upon the Assyrians her neighbours, captains and rulers clothed most gorgeously, horsemen riding upon horses, all of them desirable young men.
Ezekiel 23:11-12

Biblical Context

Ez 23:11-12 contrasts two sisters, Aholah and Aholibah, whose desire for glamorous power reveals inner idolatries. True worship is alignment with the I AM, not with outward appearances.

Neville's Inner Vision

Ezekiel presents two inner states of consciousness: one drawn to the glitter of neighbors, captains, and rulers, which is a form of idolatry; the other, a steadfast loyalty to the I AM within. The sister who doted on the Assyrians represents the mind's craving for external proof of security and status through images. This is not condemnation of people but a mirror of the imagination misdirected by appearances. When you identify with that craving, you commit 'whoredoms' by worshiping the mirror rather than the Source. The remedy is simple: reorient your imagination to the unchanging presence of the I AM. Assume the Self as sovereign, feel it-real that the inner king stands independent of horsemen or ornate robes, and revise any pull toward outward spectacle. As you persist in this inner loyalty, the tumult of competing desires dissolves and you inhabit a single, unshakable kingdom within.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes, declare 'I am the I AM,' and revise any craving for outward show. See the splendor fade as you rest in the inner kingdom where you are complete now.
