Ezekiel 22:15-18 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Ezekiel 22 in context

Scripture Focus

15And I will scatter thee among the heathen, and disperse thee in the countries, and will consume thy filthiness out of thee.
16And thou shalt take thine inheritance in thyself in the sight of the heathen, and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.
17And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
18Son of man, the house of Israel is to me become dross: all they are brass, and tin, and iron, and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are even the dross of silver.
Ezekiel 22:15-18

Biblical Context

The passage declares judgment that scatters the people and purges their filth, so they may know the LORD.

Neville's Inner Vision

That which Ezekiel calls the furnace is your own consciousness. The scattering and the dross are metaphors for thoughts, affections, and habits you have mistaken for self. By refusing to identify with them, you awaken to the I AM, the sole awareness in which you live. What the prophet calls ‘dross’ becomes your false states of possession—brass, tin, iron, lead—these are the stubborn beliefs that cling to you in the heat of life. The cleansing is not punishment but a shift in inner knowing: when you, in quiet imagination, acknowledge I AM as your true self, the sense of separation dissolves, and the fire burns away automatic reactions. Then you take your inheritance in yourself — you realize that you are the LORD's, and thus you are free from the illusion that you are merely the product of circumstance. As you dwell in this awareness, you discover that the so-called exile is simply the mind's purification, revealing the gold of your nature beneath the dross.

Practice This Now

Take a moment and assume the state: you are the I AM, the inner furnace. Feel the dross melt as you repeat 'I am the LORD, I am pure' and let that feeling real.
