Passing Under the Rod
Ezekiel 20:37-38 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Ezekiel 20 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage describes a cleansing process where people are brought under a binding covenant, and those who rebel are purged, signaling accountability and holiness.
Neville's Inner Vision
Passing under the rod is not punishment but the inner action of narrowing your focus to the I AM. The rod is your line of consciousness, a threshold where you choose what you will admit into your world. When you consent to pass, you are brought into the bond of the covenant—the realization that the I AM presence within you already stands as ruler and landowner of your life. The rebels you read of are the stubborn thoughts—doubt, fear, habit—refusing to bow to the truth you are now deciding to inhabit. By purging them, you do not punish anything; you release pressure from old identifications and clear the channel for the imagination to operate unimpeded. In this moment, you know the LORD not as an external deity but as the living I AM in you, the one who perceives, feels, and creates. The external world becomes a faithful echo of your inner alignment: the land you enter is simply the state of consciousness you persist in. The law is kindness to yourself: heal, align, and you rise into your true covenant state.
Practice This Now
Assume right now that you are under the rod and in the bond of the covenant; feel the purifying lift as rebellious beliefs dissolve, and rest in the realization that you are the I AM governing the land of your consciousness.
