Awakening the Inner Prophet
Ezekiel 2:4-8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Ezekiel 2 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
God tells Ezekiel he is sent to a stubborn people and must speak the Lord's words regardless of reception. He is commanded not to fear, to eat what is given, and to persevere in delivering the message.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within Ezekiel's charge lies a map of the inner kingdom. The 'rebellious house' signifies the restless state of mind resisting new divine ideas; I am the 'son of man' in my own temple, unshaken by thorny words or the scorpions of doubt, for they are but movements of thought. The instruction 'open thy mouth, and eat that I give thee' is not a feast of external approval but a spiritual digestion: I invite a living idea to dwell within my awareness and let it become my speech. Whether the inner audience hears or withholds, I know a prophet has visited my inner house, and I speak the words given me, not to persuade others, but to awaken the truth within. The declaration 'Thus saith the Lord GOD' becomes the inner frame by which I recognize my awareness as the I AM behind every thought. Eating is inner reception; speaking is outer manifestation. With unwavering persistence, the idea takes form in my life, and the outer world bears witness to the inner word.
Practice This Now
Sit in quiet, place a hand on your chest, and declare, 'I am the vessel for God's words'; visualize receiving a radiant idea and letting it settle into your being, then speak it into your day.
