Biblical Context
An eagle takes the cedar’s top to a land of merchants, plants a seed in a fruitful field by great waters, and the seed grows into a spreading vine.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within Ezekiel’s vision, the eagle is your state of consciousness that reaches into Lebanon, a land of commerce, to pluck the highest part of your life. The cedar stands for your most living power; when the top is cropped and carried to a land of traffic, your present sense of self is relocated into the theater of appearances. Yet the seed planted by the waters, near a willow, is your new premise, your revised thought, your inner creed. As the vine grows, its roots run under the eagle, turning its branches toward him; this is you, becoming attuned to the I AM, your divine awareness. The vine’s low stature shows that, outwardly, growth may appear modest, but its direction is inward—toward the source of life. Exile and return describe the soul’s journey from crowded thought-forms to a renewed inner garden. By recognizing that God is only your awareness, you can lead the transplant: revise your inner assumption, feel its reality, and the outer scene must follow, blossoming as a new creation and a renewed Kingdom within.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Assume you are the vine already planted by waters; dwell in the sense of completion for a minute, then let the feeling of the wish fulfilled rise and settle in your body.
