Crowned Cedar of Consciousness
Ezekiel 17:22-24 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Ezekiel 17 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
God declares He will take the highest branch of the cedar, plant it on a high mountain, and make it grow into a majestic cedar; under its shade, birds dwell, and all trees will know the Lord’s sovereignty.
Neville's Inner Vision
Here the inner reading says: the 'highest branch' is a higher I AM within consciousness, a state of awareness you plant in your mind. The 'high cedar' becomes the sovereignty of your inner I AM—an unshakable crown that can govern every moment. When you consent to this plant, you place it on the 'mountain' of awareness—the inner hill where belief and feeling meet. From that seed arise branches and fruit; your life will express order, grace, and abundance, a goodly cedar whose shade shelters every thought and feeling. The fowl of every wing—your desires, fears, and possibilities—dwell under it because they find rest in the security of this realized state. The other trees of the field—the changing conditions of health, wealth, and relation—know that the Lord of your inner world has brought down the high tree, exalted the low state, dried up the green, and caused the dry tree to flourish. This is the law of consciousness, not history: when you assume the fulfilled state with feeling, it becomes your outer world. The decree, 'I the LORD have spoken and done it,' is your inner yes that makes it so.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes and imagine the highest branch of I AM planted on a mountain of awareness; feel the shelter of its shade over every passing thought. Then live from the assumed state as if it is real now.
