Pride, Wealth, and Inner Judgment
Ezekiel 16:48-50 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Ezekiel 16 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The text names pride, abundance without charity, and neglect of the poor as the sin. In consequence, judgment comes.
Neville's Inner Vision
Remember, the 'Sodom' Ezekiel names is not a city out there but an inner dominion I carry: pride, fullness of bread, and idleness that refuse to bless the poor within. The 'iniquity' is a mental posture I inhabit—the self-satisfied attitude that hoards comfort while I neglect the inner needy. When I stand in that attitude, I notice the inner judgments I cast on life and people, and a sense of removal or loss seems to mirror my own decree. The divine law in me is the I AM awareness; when that awareness withholds aid from the inner poor, my outer circumstances contract and seem to be taken away. The remedy is to revise the self to the generous I AM, to imagine myself as the fountain of abundance, ready to lift the needier parts of my consciousness. In imagination, feel the relief of giving and behold the inner charity blooming. By embracing the oneness of all life in my mind, I dissolve the sense of punishment and awaken to a higher state where judgment yields to boundless provision.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and, as if it were now, feel the I AM as the giver; imagine your inner poor being nourished by your generosity, then declare, 'I am the source of all abundance, freely giving to bless.'
