Inner Siblings of Purity

Ezekiel 16:46-47 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Ezekiel 16 in context

Scripture Focus

46And thine elder sister is Samaria, she and her daughters that dwell at thy left hand: and thy younger sister, that dwelleth at thy right hand, is Sodom and her daughters.
47Yet hast thou not walked after their ways, nor done after their abominations: but, as if that were a very little thing, thou wast corrupted more than they in all thy ways.
Ezekiel 16:46-47

Biblical Context

Plain summary: Ezekiel uses Samaria as the elder sister and Sodom as the younger sister to name inner dispositions; though you did not walk in their ways exactly, you have become more corrupted in all your ways.

Neville's Inner Vision

Think of Samaria and Sodom not as distant places but as names for inner states of consciousness, the left and right hand of your mind tugging you toward the outer and the profane. Ezekiel says you did not walk after their ways, yet you were corrupted more than they in all your ways. This is not a verdict on your worth, but a mirror for your inner belief: you have allowed certain habits to rule your impressionable nature while insisting you remain untainted. The truth in your heart, your I AM, remains untouched by the stories of the outer world. When you realize that, you can revise from within. You can claim a new state now: I AM consciousness, fully aware of itself, choosing holiness over habit. Let the old images fade as you dwell in the light of the I AM, not by effort but by identification. As you align with that undivided aware presence, the pull of the lower states loses its force, and your life begins to reflect purity, order, and integrity. The external picture then follows the inward revelation.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes, place a hand on your heart, and affirm I AM as your true self. Then revise the scene: 'From this moment, Samaria and Sodom are reinterpreted as old conditioning I outgrow; I am purified by the I AM.' Feel the lifted sense of freedom and hold that feeling.
