Vine and Fire Within
Ezekiel 15:6-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Ezekiel 15 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage likens Jerusalem to a vine among the forest that is given to the fire, a symbolic judgment that will burn away what no longer serves. The LORD’s turning of His face against them signals an inner witnessing that exposes and clarifies the true self.
Neville's Inner Vision
In Neville’s light, the vine among the trees represents a belief or habit I have mistaken for myself, fed by fear, pride, or attachment. The fire is not punishment but the fiery activity of awareness that consumes the old pattern. When the LORD sets His face against them, He is my own I AM turning toward that pattern with unwavering attention, dissolving it by recognition. As the inner pattern burns away, the inhabitants—my scattered tendencies—are constrained to confront their truth, and I am brought back to the single truth of my consciousness: I AM the observer, the unchanging awareness behind every change. This destructive heat reveals not a ruined self but a clarified field where new growth can emerge—confidence, peace, and authentic expression. I interpret the scene as mental purification, a reset in which judgment becomes discernment and exile becomes return to the rightful life of awareness within me.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and stand as the I AM, watching a vine in a forest catch fire. See the flames consume the old pattern; then affirm to yourself that you are the observer and, through this burning, release old stories and awaken to your true creative power.
