Neville's Inner Vision
Verse 7:17-18 presents God’s declaration that the waters of the Nile will be turned to blood, fish perish, and the river become undrinkable. Read through the inner lens, and this is the consciousness turning its familiar flows upside down: the LORD is the I AM inside you, and the rod in His hand is the unwavering attention you place on that I AM. When you insist, in awareness, that life is governed by the I AM, the currents of your inner river shift—from assurance in old forms to the power of a living present reality. The “blood” is the lifeblood of a new understanding circulating in your feelings; the stink and the aversion of the old water indicate the dying away of former identifications. The Egyptians’ disgust mirrors resistance you may feel when a new truth reorganizes your inner climate. Yet this is providence in action: not punishment, but the revelation that your life is under the authority of I AM. As you dwell in that truth, the old waters lose their grip and a fresher, drinkable stream emerges within.
Practice This Now
Imaginative_act: Sit quietly, place your attention on the I AM as the rod in your hand, and revise: 'From this moment I drink from the living water within me; the old Nile of limitation dissolves.' Then feel the shift by recalling a small situation and noticing your sense of power.
