Mouth Of God Within

Exodus 4:10-12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Exodus 4 in context

Scripture Focus

10And Moses said unto the LORD, O my LORD, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.
11And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD?
12Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.
Exodus 4:10-12

Biblical Context

Moses complains he is not eloquent; God answers that He formed the mouth and will be with him to teach what to say.

Neville's Inner Vision

Beloved, Moses’ fear of voice is your own fear of being seen as you truly are. The question, Who made man’s mouth? is not history but a reminder that the I AM created every speech in your life. Eloquence is not a talent you acquire; it is awareness speaking through you. When God says, I will be with thy mouth, He means the living truth within you will utter what is needed in the moment, not your old script. If you insist you are slow of speech, you keep your power outside of you; revise that image: I am the mouth of God now, and the One who speaks through this lips is the eternal I AM. In practice, drop the self-conscious story and align your attention with the presence that already speaks in you. Speak as one who knows the inner teacher is present, and your words will carry the assurance that leads you and others to truth. The external act of speaking becomes a sign that you are listening to the divine within.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: In the next moment you speak, declare 'I am the mouth of God now' and feel the divine presence guiding your words; revise the belief about your speaking.
