Biblical Context
Moses fears that the people will not believe him, so God instructs him to cast his rod to the ground, it becomes a serpent, and then to pick it up again, proving that the LORD has appeared to him so others may believe.
Neville's Inner Vision
In the inner theater, the rod is your current state of awareness—the instrument by which you address the world. When you cast it to the ground, you are releasing attachment to a fixed self-image and the old story you tell about limitation; the serpent you see is fear masquerading as reality. When you are told to grasp it by the tail, you reclaim your attention and discipline, and the serpent becomes the rod once more in your hand. This is not a miracle separate from you but a demonstration that your I AM presence is actively in charge of your life. The purpose of the sign is to shift your belief from the illusion of separation to the truth of oneness; as you accept that the LORD God has appeared unto you in your own consciousness, you prove to yourself that the unseen power is always present within. Your mind aligns with the divine pattern, and what is cast away returns renewed as your tool of manifestation.
Practice This Now
Assume the I AM presence is fully within you now. Visualize your current belief as a rod in your hand, and deliberately cast it to the ground, watching it dissolve. Feel the calm return, then reach out mentally and grasp the serpent by the tail, turning it back into a rod in your hand as a proof that the Presence has appeared within you.
