Neville's Inner Vision
Imagine the brasen altar not as a mere object of a distant temple, but as the steadfast I AM within your own consciousness—the altar upon which you offer every impression that does not align with your true nature. The grate of brass is the inner furnace that transmut es impressions; through it you burn away fear and doubt, leaving a clear current of awareness. The staves are the supports of consciousness—habits of faith and decision that keep your attention anchored in the reality you intend to live. The vessels and the foot of the altar represent the compartments of your life that you consecrate to God in you: thoughts, feelings, choices, and actions held steady by awareness. The laver and its foot symbolize purification of mind and emotion; you wash in the water of truth, cleansing yourself from sense of separation and identifying with the I AM. When you treat these instruments as your own inner implements, you practice true worship here and now: aligning your imagination with the feeling of being already as you desire, within the holy of your own consciousness.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume you are standing before your inner brass altar; declare: I AM the altar, I AM the laver, I am purified now. Hold that feeling for a minute, and let the imagined act shape your present mood.
